Algae in the pool

The changing weather and varying temperatures over the pool season offer ideal conditions for the formation of algae. A few simple tips from our expert can help prevent algae formation.

Many pool owners have incounted algae growth, which makes the pool water turn green and look very unattractive. This often occurs after a spell of heavy rainfall.

If a pool becomes full of algae, the method of killing and removing the algae is not only expensive but very timing consuming for the pool owner. It involves shock dosing the pool with a high dose of chlorine as well flocking the pool to remove the dead algae. The best solution to the algae growth problem is prevention. This can be done by using an algaecide regularly which is very effective in preventing the formation of algae. BAYROL offers Desalgine® which is used to prevent algae formation and has been proven to be a highly effective and a reliable product with its highly concentrated formula.

It is important that algae prevention is used before any occurence of algae enters the water. It is strongly recommended to regularly check the amount of algaecide in the water to maintain the levels as depending on the weather and bather load more maybe required to prevent algae formation.

Reliable algae prevention with Desalgine® from BAYROL

Before the development of the modern algaecide, it was common to fight algae with copper salts. These products are still offered today as low-priced alternatives and often face the problem of algae developing a copper resistance in a short space of time. Potential side effects when using copper salts are hair discolorations and difficulty removing black marks from the pool walls.

However BAYROL’s Desalgine®  has the advantage of being copper free and therefore dramatically reduces the common side effects when using low-priced alternative algaecides.
